Everest Reinsurance Holdings, Inc., a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd. (Everest) acquired Heartland Crop Insurance, Inc. effective January 3, 2011. Everest’s operating subsidiaries have financial strength ratings of A+ XV by A.M. Best and A+ by Standard & Poor’s. Its’ admitted insurance company, Everest National Insurance Company, is admitted in 50 states and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Everest Reinsurance Company. Everest National will be the issuing paper for the 2012 crop year which is effective July 1, 2011.

 
Prior to its acquisition by Everest, Heartland’s policies were written under an exclusive agreement with Greenwich Insurance Company which is licensed in all fifty states and is a wholly owned subsidiary of XL Reinsurance America Inc.
Both companies are A.M. Best rated “A” and part of XL Capital Ltd. which has shareholders’ equity of approximately $9.4 billion as of December 31, 2009, providing you a very high level of safety and security.
